Wedding 032010

I know this is late but I just got around to uploading and editing photos. Enjoy :)

This past weekend I went up to Norcal for my uncle's wedding. It was a small wedding and my dad was the unofficial official wedding photographer (he usually doesn't do weddings). He asked me to help him out, more with the candid/atmosphere (as he likes to call it) photography. I don't really like shooting weddings, especially if you're a guest at the event. Luckily, I was able to sit and eat the food while my dad ran around and shot. :)

Sharpie Pen

So I bought a pack of Sharpie PENS.  And no it's not the same as the extra fine point Sharpie permanent marker; although the Sharpie PEN is permanent.  I LOVE IT!!!  For some reason, it came in a pack with black, green, blue, purple, and orange.  Not red for some reason.  Oh well.  It's crazy how it DOES NOT bleed through paper!  I had colored felt pens but it bled through the pages of my notebook when I took notes in class to distinguish what is the current and electric field lines, etc. But these Sharpie PENS don't bleed through!  YIPPEE!!!  I can even underline verses in my Bible (super thin paper BTW) and it doesn't bleed through!  I like to underline verses in colored ink so it stands out more.

So I had lunch last week with some girls from homegroup and I gave my Bible to one of the girls. So I went out and bought a new Bible.  I hate how it's so clean and stuff because it deters me from underlining verses.  Hopefully now, since I have colorful pens that don't bleed through the paper, I will read and underline more verses.  God, speak to me through your word!!!

Questions

Do you ever feel weird when you ask people sensitive questions? Questions that are kind of personal, but you want to know about the other person. Questions that will challenge the other. I don't think I'll go as far to call these types of questions taboo but they sure make me feel uncomfortable when I ask them. But they are questions that I want to ask because I care.

Here are some examples I can think of on the spot:
  • Have you read your Bible today?
  • What are you learning from God these past few days?
  • Have you done your devos yet?
  • Can we do devos together?
  • Want to go through a book [in the Bible] together?
  • How has God revealed Himself to you this past week?
I don't know why I feel shy to ask these questions, I just do. Anyone else out there feel the same way?

To love is to be vulnerable.

I very much agree with this quote.

God provides shelter

So here in the sunny Southern California, it has been POURING RAIN ever since Sunday night.  It's very strange weather for socal, but I find it very refreshing.  I love the sound of rain on the roof or against the windows; it's quite soothing.  So far, I've only walked out in the blistering rain once, when I walked to my car to take a nap during lunch.  Bad idea.  I got drenched!!

Other than that one time outside in the rain, God has really blessed me with shelter from the storm.  I just watched the storm, even a tornado on Tuesday, from inside my work office through our large windows.  Or I was in my car driving when it was pouring.  When I did have to walk outside to go to my car or class, the rain had stopped.  : )  Even today when I walked around UCI's campus to pick up my diploma it wasn't raining.

I've been able to stay dry practically all week. : )
