SF 10.26.11

Took BART to Chinatown to meet up with an old patient who was visiting. Then we walked around Chinatown and actually went into all those stores. I never stepped foot in them; we always walked past them whenever I was with family. There are a lot of interesting things in those stores! After walking up and down Grant St, we went our separate ways. I walked by this mural I saw while driving one day. I didn't remember where it was and I was lucky to stumble across it again. I made sure I snapped a picture this time. Then I went to Starbucks to get a beverage and attempted to start writing an essay for Simmons College. I was mostly just thirsty. Finished my drink and started walking to the Montgomery BART station and passed by Coffee Bar. I didn't go inside; I liked the simplicity of the decor with its clean cut edges. Then hopped onto BART.

2011 Wheels For Meals Ride 10.22.11

Rode the Wheels For Meals Ride benefitting Alameda Meals on Wheals. It was in Livermore in the early morning (9am). Yes, that's early. I did the 15 mile course with some friends and my crazy brother did the 70 mile course without really training at all! The course went through residential streets, vineyards, and rolling hills. There was a bbq meal provided for us after and a few vendor booths. Honest tea is pretty good. It was my first time having it. By the time my brother finished, they were cleaning up bbq area. They never marked mine or Jon's wrist band indicating we got food so we got a plate each to save for Gar if he got back after they cleaned everything up.

Wow what a crazy less-than-24 hrs it's been

11/07/11
6:00pm
Check Craigslist for any nearby physical therapy aide job openings. None. They were all too far and not worth the drive.
7:30pm Finished eating dinner. Went back on my computer. For some reason I checked Craigslist again and VOILA! A part time job opening about 12 miles away. Part time is good because I'm looking for volunteer at a hospital as well.
8:00pm Wrote my cover letter, reviewed my resume and emailed a response. Also Facebook/Tweeted everyone asking for prayer on my job application.
10:45pm Went to shower and prayed for the job.
11:15pm After my shower I checked my email and I got a response from the job offer asking if I was available to interview tomorrow (which is today). Facebook/Tweeted everyone announcing I got an interview and need more prayer.

11/08/11
12:15am Prayed for the job and went to sleep.
9:30am Woke up and checked my email. Interview got rescheduled a few minutes later than originally scheduled time.
11:20am I arrive in the parking lot of the place and pray
11:35am I walk to the office
12:45pm I am handed an employee packet with all the tax forms and schedule a time to start training
12:46pm I Facebook/Tweet "so uh. i got a job." in UTTER SHOCK, AWE, AND AMAZED

11/09/11
12:00pm I go in for training.

This is NOT by my own doing but by Him. Plus the power of prayer :)

This was also on utmost.org for today. (Mind you, I've never been on this site) Wow does prayer work. And I guess the Spirit agreed with my desire to get this job.

The Unrivalled Power Of Prayer

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
