The Effects Of Coffee (or just plain caffeine) On My Body
I am super sensitive to caffeine. If I drink it in the morning, it makes it really hard to sleep at night. It can be coffee, energy drinks, or tea. The only good thing about caffeine for my body is that it helps me concentrate when I have to do work. I think that my brain is just operating on super speed that I can really focus and get things done. It's really strange. Like right now for instance, I am typing at super duper speeds and really focused on doing my homework.
My body reacts well to tea and energy drinks, but when it comes to coffee it's a whole different story. I might be slightly lactose intolerant due to not drinking too much milk nowadays. After drinking coffee I just know that my stomach and bowels will not do well after. Yet, I made the mistake today knowing the effects of coffee. I'm at Starbucks doing work and I should have gotten a tea but I just blurted out "Mocha Frappuccino" without thinking. We'll see about tonight. Luckily I'm not going out to see anyone tonight. It's so tasty though :)

legs
Lately I've been feeling self-conscious about my legs, most specifically, my thighs. After cycling more than ever before in my life I feel my thighs getting larger and larger. Muscle perhaps? But definitely larger. And then I look at other people's legs and see that they're really thin and skinny and I want those legs. But I know that they have no muscle. Would I rather have skinny legs with no muscle or bigger toned/muscle-y legs. Sigh.
I need to work out my stomach. :/

Misunderstanding of Love
I was browsing facebook and looking at one person's profile leads to another person's profile etc. I came across a "friend" who has just gotten out of a pretty long/serious relationship in the end of 2009. A relationship that claims that they loved each other. Three months later, this "friend" is now with another person and everything is all lovey dovey, I love you, I'm-so-glad-i-found-you stuff. I just don't understand how a person could "fall into love" and then "out of love" and then back "into love" in such a short time period.
Doesn't love take time to grow? Isn't love a process? And how can you truly know someone in such a short amount of time? Can you really learn every single little quirk about a person in three months? What about the other person's flaws, can you learn to love that in three months? Ultimately, how can you truly love if you don't know Jesus?
There's the worldly definition of love, and the truth. I feel like the term "love" is thrown around so loosely in our society that it's become another word for "really like." I know that there is a difference between being in love and to love. We love all the time, everyday. I think we show love everyday through our actions. But to be in love, I think that is a long long process and should be forever.
I thought I was once in love, but then lately I've second guessed that. Perhaps life just happened (ref. 500 Days of Summer) and that's how we fell out of love. But shouldn't being in love be forever? Obviously that thing I called "being in love" did not last forever. Did I know the true meaning of love back then? The only way we can truly love is to know that Jesus first loved us. His love is unfathomable to us, we could only try to emulate this love towards others and back to Him. His sacrificial love for us, His grace that we don't deserve, His mercies that we receive everyday, the everlasting love that He gives us, His providence all around us.... Perhaps, when I feel this way towards someone, then I am truly in love. And in order to do that, I think it takes lots of time and getting to know the person inside and out, experiencing Jesus' love in each of their lives together and separately, knowing that the other is also trying to love how Jesus first loved us.
Love is complicated, yet so simple.

Jesus is ALIVE
[vimeo http://vimeo.com/1371841 w=700&h=525]
A video we watched at the beginning of Easter Sunday service today. It was very moving.
My faith is NOT dead, it's ALIVE!! I don't believe and worship a dead God; He is very much alive. I see Him everyday in the people around me, in everything I see, and everything I feel. REJOICE!

Sharpie Pen
So I bought a pack of Sharpie PENS. And no it's not the same as the extra fine point Sharpie permanent marker; although the Sharpie PEN is permanent. I LOVE IT!!! For some reason, it came in a pack with black, green, blue, purple, and orange. Not red for some reason. Oh well. It's crazy how it DOES NOT bleed through paper! I had colored felt pens but it bled through the pages of my notebook when I took notes in class to distinguish what is the current and electric field lines, etc. But these Sharpie PENS don't bleed through! YIPPEE!!! I can even underline verses in my Bible (super thin paper BTW) and it doesn't bleed through! I like to underline verses in colored ink so it stands out more.
So I had lunch last week with some girls from homegroup and I gave my Bible to one of the girls. So I went out and bought a new Bible. I hate how it's so clean and stuff because it deters me from underlining verses. Hopefully now, since I have colorful pens that don't bleed through the paper, I will read and underline more verses. God, speak to me through your word!!!

Questions
Do you ever feel weird when you ask people sensitive questions? Questions that are kind of personal, but you want to know about the other person. Questions that will challenge the other. I don't think I'll go as far to call these types of questions taboo but they sure make me feel uncomfortable when I ask them. But they are questions that I want to ask because I care.
Here are some examples I can think of on the spot:
Here are some examples I can think of on the spot:
- Have you read your Bible today?
- What are you learning from God these past few days?
- Have you done your devos yet?
- Can we do devos together?
- Want to go through a book [in the Bible] together?
- How has God revealed Himself to you this past week?

To love is to be vulnerable.

God provides shelter
So here in the sunny Southern California, it has been POURING RAIN ever since Sunday night. It's very strange weather for socal, but I find it very refreshing. I love the sound of rain on the roof or against the windows; it's quite soothing. So far, I've only walked out in the blistering rain once, when I walked to my car to take a nap during lunch. Bad idea. I got drenched!!
Other than that one time outside in the rain, God has really blessed me with shelter from the storm. I just watched the storm, even a tornado on Tuesday, from inside my work office through our large windows. Or I was in my car driving when it was pouring. When I did have to walk outside to go to my car or class, the rain had stopped. : ) Even today when I walked around UCI's campus to pick up my diploma it wasn't raining.
I've been able to stay dry practically all week. : )

Merry Christmas!
Thank you Jesus for saving me, and I will celebrate the day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And with this Christmas wish is missed
The point I could convey
If only I could find the words to say to let You know how much You’ve touched my life
Because here is where You’re finding me, in the exact same place as New Year’s eve
And from a lack of my persistency
We’re less than half as close as I want to be
And the first time
That You opened Your eyes did You realize that You would be my Savior
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did You know that it would change this world forever
And so this Christmas I’ll compare the things I felt in prior years
To what this midnight made so clear
That You have come to meet me here
To look back and think that
This baby would one day save me
In the hope that what You did
That you were born so I might live
To look back and think that
This baby would one day save me
And I, I celebrate the day
That You were born to die
So I could one day pray for You to save my life

New Place For My Thoughts
Here's a new place for my thoughts. I kind of want to keep my random Tumblr blogs separate from the more serious things that go on in my head. We'll see how this goes.
